About the resort Hissar
The town of Hissar is situated in the central part of Bulgaria, in the South slopes of Sredna Gora Mountain. The town is located 360 meters above sea level.
From antiquity to the present day, the life around the mineral springs is not interrupted. In the time different people and civilizations have lived in that place because of the healing waters, they have left valuable specimens of their material and spiritual culture. The first information about the town date from 4-3 century BC. The town Hissar is founded by Roman Emperor Diocletian 17 centuries ago, established here because of the precious mineral waters. Over the years the settlers here were Thracians, Romans, Slavs, Bulgarians - attracted by the unique combination of mineral springs, climate, natural resources, local flora and fauna. The Romans valued the healing qualities of the mineral water and built one of theirs biggest city, named Diocletianopolis.
Nowadays the combination of superb climate, thermo mineral habitat and cultural and historical heritage make the town and the region queer core of attraction for medical and respite.
The mineral water
There are 22 springs on the territory of the resort, situated in a small region, having different physical-chemical indexes and temperature that varies between 41º and 52º C. All waters have low mineralization, hydrocarbon-sulphate-carbon characteristics, with high alkaline reaction and low hardness, pure, colorless and with pleasant taste.
